Natural Stone
The first thing that you need to consider is the look that you want in your home. The aesthetic that you want in your home is important. You’re the one who is looking at it every day. Therefore, when you go with a natural stone there are several looks that can be created in your home. Earthy, contemporary, and the like can be created with natural stone. Here are the properties that it has is the fact that it is extremely durable. However natural stone is also porous and is prone to staining. Therefore, it needs to be cleaned and stained regularly.
Porcelain/Ceramic
This type of tile is incredibly durable and stain resistant. Additionally, it isn’t porous and because of that you don’t have to worry about sealing your tile, just your grout. The downside to porcelain and ceramic tile is the look of it. While you can get many different patterns and colors, it doesn’t bring the same look and effect to the table as natural stone does. If you’re needing something that is incredibly durable, then porcelain is the way to go. There is a difference between porcelain and ceramic. The main difference being that one has certified and graded.
